Thanks to everyone who picked up a copy of the record from
Baskerville Hill while they were available!!
Black Bear - The Cinnamon Phase
With brash edged beats and an able bodied lyrical delivery, Black Bear's debut album is a synth pop tour de force. "The Cinnamon Phase" contorts and bounces and stings, navigating a poetic and personal map of lost and found love, the city of Seattle, and time travel daydreams. It's a confident, fresh new breed of electro pop. It's a first album from a new talent. It's a real good album.

Various Artists - Dr. Rhinocerous
Our label's debut album, and we think it's damn good. Dr. Rhinocerous features songs from all the Baskerville artists, like Throw Me The Statue, Black Bear, The Ponytails and The Altamont, as well as other great acts including a couple of platinum contributions from our good friends at Recommended If You Like Records in NYC. Check out our downloads section for some banging MP3 samples. And for the mini-price of $8, you can't pass this up!

The Golden Isles -Climb a Library Shelf
In a dream world we could blast "Climb a Library Shelf" while sitting inside our own gothic hall. We could drench ourselves in singer Will Cone's echoed testaments of what it feels like to fall entirely in love and just barely make it through. Yet even though we can't actually take over this ideal space with our boombox, The Golden Isles debut record positions us there. Over a backdrop of tunes that recall 80s & 90s UK underground from Sarah Records to The Jesus and Mary Chain as well as some US folk rock inspiration, we the listener are whispered to, shouted at, and pleaded with. Upbeat and heroic to languid and defeated, "Climb A Library Shelf" engulfs a reverbed-out rainbow of humanness. Check it out.

The WoWz - Long Grain Rights
The WoWz are a raucous and great band from NYC who have the brilliant song “Sometimes I Feel Life” featured on Baskerville’s Dr Rhinoceros compilation. They also have this great record — Long Grain Rights -- that the New York-based RIYL Records put out. It is available for sale here! And check out the Downloads section for a sample of these guys’ totally fun throwback sound.
